Our firm focuses on complex federal and California tax matters, business taxation, international tax, cross-border transactions, fiduciary tax returns, fiduciary accounting, and strategic tax and financial planning.
We regularly assist clients with complex areas of the Internal Revenue Code, including foreign corporations and investments, PFIC reporting, GILTI, Subpart F income, foreign tax credits, FBAR and FATCA compliance, and international tax filings such as Forms 5471, 5472, 8865, and 8858.
We also work extensively with trusts and estates, including Form 1041 tax returns, fiduciary accounting, beneficiary distributions, trust administration tax matters, and estate tax planning.

Mahmoud Abotteen, CPA
Founder, Abotteen & Co.
Mahmoud Abotteen is the founder of Abotteen & Co. and a California Certified Public Accountant with more than 15 years of experience in taxation, audit, accounting, and corporate finance.
His background includes experience with national CPA firms and in-house accounting and finance departments, including Fortune 500 Companies.
Mahmoud holds a Master of Business Taxation from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Business Administration. He is licensed by the California Board of Accountancy and is involved with CalCPA, ProVisors, and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce.
His approach is centered on understanding each client's business, applying the tax code and financial information to their specific situation, and helping them make informed decisions as they grow.
